Rev Cycles Does Indy

Wednesday September 17:

Indianapolis proved to be the Mecca of motorcycling in North America this weekend. RevCycles attended various events including the Moto GP race, the Indy Mile and the 2009 Ducati Dealer Meeting. The main attraction was the Moto GP race won by Super Hero Valentino Rossi, the Indy Mile had the best racing of the weekend. Good 'ol fashioned dirt trackers pitching their twins sideways at 100 MPH with rooster tails in the corners and top speeds on the straights of 130 MPH. With 50,000 spectators, the event was dusty, noisy, beery, cheap and a blast. If you're planning to attend next years Moto GP, make sure you do the Indy Mile on Saturday night.

The tail end of Hurricane Ike stopped the Moto GP race early on Sunday, but most spectators felt the race could have been flagged earlier than it was. 70 MPH winds made it difficult to stand and watch let alone ride a motorcycle at warp speed. In the end, Rossi added one more GP win to his roster making him the winningest GP racer in history. Nikki Hayden mixed it up with Rossi for second. Casey Stoner rode an intelligent race while keeping his Desmosedici from flying away during the storm.

2009 Ducati Dealer Meeting

The 2009 Ducati Dealer Meeting invited all Ducati dealers from North America to talk bikes and bond with fellow Ducati dealers from Canada and the US. Numerous VIP's and upper management from Ducati Motor Holding were there due to the GP race / Dealer Meeting connection. The surprise attendee happened to be a Moto GP star from another team. More on him after the Valencia, Spain GP race.

RevCycles went home with 2 of 4 possible awards available in Canada, "Most Improved Dealer" and "Best Service Department" plus an honourable mention for "Best Service Department in North America".

New 2009 models will be shown in early November at the Milano EICMA show.
